First day of online training with the district and first full day with my teacher in her classroom!! My teacher is so great! She knows so much about all the kids, and I can really tell how much she cares about them all and wants what's best for them. I am so excited to learn from her :) We had one meeting this morning with everyone from the district, and everyone was introduced, so that was cool! (They pronounced DeMare wrong though) It was short, but we got to go into breakout rooms and get to know our small group, which was nice. After that, I sat with my teacher and the other teachers just in my building about student schedules. They make the school schedule just about a week before school starts, which is wild to me since I'm used to getting a schedule at the beginning of August. Since it is such a small school, the teachers work together to place students in classes based on their learning levels, not their grade level. I don't know any of the kiddos yet, so it was kind of like they were speaking another language. After lunch, I meet with my teacher and my principal to make up my daily schedule, and I am going to be with almost all the kids in the school! Some classes I'm just sitting in on in case they need an extra set of hands, and within a few weeks of school, I am hopefully going to have my own groups for interventions! I also had my first meeting with Chris (my advisor from Brockport) and a few other student teachers. He said not to worry about anything being due, and he'll talk about it next week when we meet with all the student teachers. Corbin made our first delivery order, hopefully it comes on Friday, he is hoping to make tacos for dinner, and we can invite people over! While I was in meetings, Corbin was setting up a few shelves in the Pre-K room.

Great job on those shelves Corb!!! It’s so cool to read how different things are there. Classes by skill level vs grade.
