Today is Mom and Dad's 25 anniversary!!♡ Corbin and I called them and talked with them for a while. They gave me a few good ideas for my future lesson plans, and I'm excited to hear what the other teachers think. Mom and Dad went to Alex's Place for dinner :) I got to see a few SpEd pull-outs today for the first time, so that was neat!! Some kiddos get pulled out of their classrooms to get specialized instruction in areas where they need extra support. For spirit week, today was crazy hair day. It was cool to see some of the kids' creativity. Tomorrow is the beginning of the volleyball tournament, so Corbin will be driving people from the airport to the school all day tomorrow. They say around 60 students are coming with is a ton! I'm excited to see how it goes :)  Also, the keypad stopped working on the computer (good thing it's a touch screen), so if anyone has any laptop recommendations, let me know! Love and miss you all ♡

Today I finally got to send my pen pal letters!! I hope we hear back soon :) Today was the beginning of spirit week, so I got to wear my pajamas to work. That was weird for me. The moon was really pretty tonight. They call it a hunter's moon because it is so bright! After school, I worked on making some stickers. I placed an order and I can't wait for them to come in! And Corbin made some Chicken parm wraps for dinner. YUM!

The weather was pretty crappy, so we didn't really go outside much. It gets really windy here, and it sounds like our roof is going to fly off! I went to the school for a couple of hours to try and plan for the week, but I wasn't very productive. I got some merch from the school store, and I'm excited to wear it! :)  A couple of girls came over Saturday night and we played Jenga, rummy, and one other game. It was fun. Sunday, I watched church online, and Corbin went to Colter's to help put up some insulation. I got to call Cierra, and we did our bible study. While we watched the saddest Buffalo Bills game in the history of games, I baked my first loaf of bread, and it turned out great!

HAPPY FRIDAY!! I got to record a vocab lesson today that I planned, and I think it went really well. I was really happy with how it went. Now I just have to submit the process it took me to plan it for Brockport :) After school, Corbin and I went for a Honda ride. We drove to the dump and saw some bear poop! No bears tho :( After our ride, we went over to Connor and Gabrielle's for dinner. They made pasta, meatballs, and Brussels sprouts! Corbin made some fresh ciabatta bread. It was all delicious, and then we went to open gym and played some volleyball.  Bear poop! Corbin getting in his golf fix at the dump with a rock and a metal pole we found

Today I was in the middle of teaching a reading intervention group when I looked out the window and saw a semi truck drive past. I must have made quite a face because my mentor teacher asked me if I was wondering how that got here. I had no idea. She told me there was a barge here. The next period, I had the middle/high schoolers, so I asked their teacher if we could go down and see it. She said yes! I told the kids they had to be my teacher today! They taught me that a barge is like a big flat boat that big freight comes in on. They don't come often, but when they do, they bring oil, vehicles, and other large items that wouldn't fit on a plane. After school, Corbin and I went to a KVC (Kokhanok Village Council) meeting. It was cool to be a part of it. They talked a lot about things that happen in the village, and each person who is in charge of something had to report. For example, our principal made a report on the school, the woman who runs the clinic talked about what was g...

How in the world is it already October!? The days are definitely starting to get shorter here. When I walked to school this morning, it was dark out. Which is wild because just two days ago it was light out! I had a meeting with my Brockport professors today, and it wasn't long at all, it was just a brief check-in. We also had a staff meeting at school to kind of talk about how the week is going and start talking about the volleyball tournament that we are hosting next week, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I'm really excited about it, about 60 students are coming to play volleyball for three days! We are hoping to have a few other activities planned for the students and chaperones while they're here. I was also collaborating with the high school social studies and English teacher. We talked about a few games that I can incorporate into my lessons. All of the teachers here are really great resources for me, and I feel like I am learning so much :)

Today in class, I had my kids start writing pen pal letters! None of them had ever heard of pen pals, so I think it will be really cool if it works! I want to send them to the students at our church, but I'm waiting for a response. I had them brainstorm some cool facts about Kokhanok, some things they like doing, one book they enjoy, and three questions they wanted to ask. They all have to meet a standard that involves being technologically responsible, so we're planning on emailing these letters because if we tried to mail them, it would take forever to be able to respond! Today was probably my favorite dinner so far. Corbin made fresh ciabatta bread and homemade meatballs with our famous Cloy's spaghetti sauce. It was delicious!

Hey everyone! It's been a while :) I miss everyone so much! I've loved facetiming people and catching up. I'm so thankful for technology that keeps us connected ♡ Last week, we kind of just stayed home every day after school and didn't do much. We had a caribou roast one day for lunch, and that was delicious! My kids finished their short story, and I got to record it as one of my lessons for Brockport, so that was pretty cool! Over the weekend, we went berry picking, and Corbin made pizza! I think he should open a restaurant when we get back. Everyone keeps asking him where he learned how to cook, and he has basically just taught himself. He's been finding recipes on Instagram and they're all turning out great!! Today was the first frost, so the blackberries aren't really good for picking anymore, but the cranberries are supposed to be good now! Today, the kids didn't have school again, it was an in-service day. I did a lot of planning and trying to get...
